Background / CV / Approach

Since 1994 I have been teaching what would best be described as contemporary guitar, namely electric rhythm and lead, acoustic and bass.

My emphasis is on the practical aspects of playing as opposed to heavy theory or laborious study of specific pieces. I teaching the 'building blocks' (chords, scales, techniques) which can be put together by the player for their pleasure and development.

As a songwriter, I am also happy to aid in song writing looking at musical structure, use of chords, arrangements etc.

Every student is unique in terms of their ability and wishes and are treated so.

Lessons are usually half an hour in duration. Teaching can be on a individual basis or in small groups, school/peripatetic tutoring is also undertaken.
