Januaryovember 2012 - What's News?

  • The "Dedicated Followers" emerge! After a lifetime of Kinks fanship, a number of lags and I have gotten together to form a Kinks Tribute Act, named after the classic 'Dedicated Follower of Fashion'. Expect to hear all the hits and a few extras but don't expect the red hunting jackets or thin callow youths. First run out will be a short set at the Beaverwood Club on 9th November, pop down if you are free.
  • Open Mic at OMG. As of now I will be hosting the Open Mic at OMG Mill Row Bexley on the 1st Thursday of each month. Set up by the wonderful Johnny 'Boy' Jones it has been running about 6 months and the plan is to grow it. Ideal for solos and duos due to a pretty small playing space. Please COME ON DOWN!!
Next session Thursday 1st December at 8.00pm
  • The Taylor T5 has landed so expect to see/hear that soon. AER amp soon to join it.
  • New Duo. The amazing Matthew Sear and I now use the name of Two and a Half Men on the odd occasions we gig together. Launch at the Morden Arms we play mainly rock/blues classics but with the odd surprise. More later. Playing with 'Fiddle Boy' Richard Moore carries on under the name of Empty Vessels.
  • Taylor Guitars have set up a European Service Centre who have just done a wonderful restoration on my C314. The guitar had a couple of weeks break in Amsterdam which did it the world of good. If you uses their kit, try it out- far superior to their old service partner in East Grinstead. http://www.taylorguitars.com/dealers/international.
  • The next student show is 11th December and will have a Christmas theme, planing is under way and work will start in September.
  • Some students have had difficulty in using paypal - it appears that as the site occasionally changes if you have pages in cache memory thay can cause payPal to fail - easy fix, just reset your browser.

What's Old News?

  • "Forever Young" - The show went better than my wildest dreams!! Firstly we sold out the Jagger (give me a little licence there were 4 empty seats) and the music and everything went to plan. A huge thank you to all involved who grafted so hard to make it happen. More details will appear on the Forever Young Page. We will be doing a short version at the Danson Festival and am in early discussions about taking to other places.
