My Next Great Affair

The song of a man desperate for love.

In the Morning we say ‘never again’ but by the evening, there we are, at it…..again

The town of Varosha has been in limbo since 1974 and its past beauty lost as it decays in ‘no mans land’ - a true story.

What you're saying about The Night After (The Morning Before)

The CD has landed! Thank you so much for sending it down. I sneaked it into the office yesterday as I was working on my own and played it whilst filling in my spreadsheets. I have to say I am very impressed that you'd written everything yourself as well! You must be really pleased with the finished result and I hope that you have great success with it - will definitely try to come up to one of your gigs one day.
Just listening to your new album & really enjoying it. Very thought-provoking and will linger in the memory. Many thanks for sending.
Hi Graham, Great album. We have listened to it several times so feel ready to give you feedback. I liked 'The Parting'. Thought it had quite a Ralph McTellesque flavour to it. The lyrics in Pissed off with me and Drinking on a school night struck a chord with me. You should be very proud of your accomplishments. I am very impressed! Listening I did feel a little worried and Hope the more melancholy tracks are not too autobiographical. Thanks for sending me a copy
Hi Graham, - track one was included in the show last night - a very good CD by the way. Best wishes

My blood pressure is higher than a bird in the sky

I say, music is cheaper than therapyMusic is cheaper than therapy - Old Compton Street

  • As a song writer Graham addresses a wide spectrum of topics, feelings and issues. Never forgetting that audiences are there to be entertained, much effort is put into making songs accessible through strong choruses and verses which carry a story. The stories are varied in topic, not limited to love and loss, but tell of many things. Some have a rye humour about them others address more serious topics.
  • Graham has a repertoire of songs by well known singer song writers including Ralph McTell, Al Stewart, Cat Stevens, Ray Davies (OK the Kinks were a rock band but the songs stand up for themselves) to name but a few.
  • Currently Graham has two alums available, The Night After (The Morning Before) and Old Compton Street. Tracks, or the whole albums, are available from the shop on this site or digital music outlets such as iTunes, Amazon etc.
  • Live Graham offers his own songs, selected covers, guitar instrumentals; add in the odd story and humorous anecdote and an enjoyable evening is in store. Depending on the requirement a gig can be all new material, all covers or a mixture.

See Living in the Past for a few points of history.

Living In The Past

Since the late 1980s Graham Corbould has been doing the rounds of folk and acoustic clubs in London and the South East playing his own songs, selected covers, guitar instrumentals; add in the odd story and humorous anecdote and an enjoyable evening is in store.

As a song writer Graham addresses a wide spectrum of topics, feelings and issues. Never forgetting that audiences are there to be entertained much effort is put into making songs accessible through strong choruses and verses which carry a story. The stories are varied in topic, not limited to love and loss, but tell of many things. Some have a rye humour about them others address more serious topics.

In addition to his own works Graham will often incorporate covers where applicable; some from his influences (Ray Davies, Al Stewart, Nick Lowe for example) sometimes adaptions of other songs. The guitar features prominently, with some self written instrumentals; by day Graham is a professional guitar tutor. In 2013 Graham sold out the prestigious Mick Jagger Centre with Forever Young, a 70th birthday celebration for Bob Dylan.

Graham is often seen around as part of the popular cover duo The Oakland Brothers.
